Own your own pony days & weeks
Red Earth Equestrian Centre is host to many "own your own pony days" during school holidays. Where the clients learn to look after the animals as if they were their own meet new people make friends and have fun!
The days and weeks follow different themes consisting of:
- Gymkana Days
- Show Days
- Arena eventing
- Dressage
- Hacking
Pony days
Pony days consist of arriving, feeding and watering the pony allocated to them. They then receive a lesson in the morning on their allocated pony and also they also muck out the stable, feed the pony and groom the pony.
Later in the day they participate in a show/trec or races dependant on the day they have chosen to attend. These days are enjoyable and recommeded to boost confidence and skill to highlight the importance of looking after horses.
As an equestrian centre we feel this a beneficial service we offer our customers as this is a key element of having your own horse.
Pony weeks
The days help the children to understand that owning a pony is a full time commitment whether rain or shine.
It is also a thouroughly enjoyable week where they get to try differant things with the horses every day from jumping in the field to hacking in the countryside, from quizzes and games to Bathing the horses ready for competition day and learn how to plait apply hoof oils ect.
The last day of the week, the riders and ponies come out "dressed to impressed", by finishing the week off by taking part in a show at the yard. The ponies are plaited and dazzled up and they take part in a dressage and showjumping competition with many prizes to be won!
